Devoted entirely to recent research in spaceflight mechanics, the 190
papers of this proceedings were presented at the 14th Space Flight
Mechanics Meeting, held in February 2004 on Maui, Hawai'i. The papers
are grouped into major topics, including solar sails, orbital
mechanics, ACS sensor alignment and calibration, space surveillance
processing, interplanetary missions, formation flying, and optical
satellite tracking systems. Among the topics of individual papers
were: adaptive pulse width modulation, identification of a tethered
satellite using a Kalman Filter, effects of cross correlated
covariance on spacecraft collision probability, and examination of
NORAD TLE accuracy using the Iridium Constellation. The four editors
are with the Naval Research Laboratory, North Carolina State U., the
Air Force Research Laboratory, and AT&T Government Solutions, Inc.
Similarly, the contributors are scientists in academe, industry, and
government research worldwide. The CD-ROM contains all of the papers
in digital format.
